The gangrape episode of Indian capital Delhi happend in december 2012 shows us all the animalistic behaviour of the human beings. We call ourselves as the most intellectual creature of this universe. Because God has given us the power to think. So why this type of things happen in our society. Some are saying this things are happening due to the influence of western culture. But this type of sexual asault on woman is not happening only on the urban areas where the citizen are more westernised. Rapes are also happening in rural areas and most underdeveloped remote villages of every continent. We can build various systems to check or punish the criminals who are doing this type of crimes. But this will not solve the real problem. So we have to find out the real cause of this problem. Sex is a biological need. But as we are human beings we have developed a great society and to maintain the harmony we have to live in a very discipline way.
Everyone is attracted by sex which is a universal truth or in other words we can express it as the so called happiness of our house hold life begins from maithuna or sexual intercourse. We have created this marriage system only to fulfil our sex desire in a disciplined manner. In our Srimad - Bhagavat Gita it is mentioned that " yan maithunadi grhamedhi sukham hi tuccham" the happiness begins from sex. This sexual desire is also in animals. The animals can not discriminate whether they are doing sex with their mother, sister or daughter. But as we are human beings and capable to discriminate our relations we have to control our sex desire for the betterment of the society. So here the question arise how we can control our sex desire. In our hindu mythology Madana or Cupid is called as the god of sex. So we are victims of cupid. Unless one is induced by Madana one can not be engaged in sex life. Here it is clear that we are controlled by Madana or god of sex. Krishna is also known as Madana Mohana which means who vanquishes cupid. Madana is attracting everyone, but when one is attracted by Krishna Madana is defeated. To control our sexual desire if we engage our mind in a spiritual way towards Krishna consciousness then we can build a better society.
